Superman has Kryptonite. The Lion of Losantiville has… BAD DRIVERS!! Compelled by my pet peeves list, C.J. takes us on a wild ride into the fast lane of his most annoying driving pet peeves. Is it wrong that I enjoy discovering what annoys people? That is exactly what we do here, so buckle up!
I’ll chime in with a “no grace for out-of-towners” pet peeve. In chaotic spots–like where 2 lanes will soon become “exit only” while an on ramp also meets up–locals know to anticipate early and get in the best spot. But they seem to assume that everyone knows the area. And so zoom up and blare their horns when someone else gets a bit stuck. (This sorta relates to tailgating. If we all left space between cars, a smoother/calmer flow would naturally occur.) Thanks, guys!
I tend to be more lenient with people. For example, I turned onto a residential street and a car was stopped right on the street. I waited for a bit but he didn’t move. I figured he was just waiting for some reason so I went around him. He gestured at me angrily. That’s when I realized why he was stopped. A car in a driveway was ever so slowly backing out. It looked like a teenager and the guy in the car was likely her dad who had moved out of the driveway to let her out. Having a teenage daughter new to driving myself, I felt terrible. I just did not see her backing out. I was quick to judge him because earlier that day at work I dealt with multiple cars stopped for no reason so I assumed the same thing in this instance…sheesh.
I feel you, CJ. I have always said it needs to be more difficult to obtain a driver’s license. Too many idiots qualify for one! 😂🤣😹
